Trip To Tiffin, OH

We took a small detour while travelling to Kirtland and drove to Tiffin. This is a very special place for me. This is where they found the law documents by Oliver Cowdery that I am transcribing today. I wanted to drive the extra 4 hours and go take a picture outside the courthouse where the documents were found. The courthouse is now closed so we were not able to go inside, but being there was a special thing for me.
Yes, that small head is mine :)
While travelling down there we saw some amazing scenery.
However, on the way back we hit such a huge thunder storm. We had to drive with our hazard lights on so that the people could see us from behind. It was a very scary moment!

Kirtland Temple

We were able to take a tour given by the Community of Christ church inside the Kirtland temple. No pictures were allowed inside, but we were able to take some from the outside. As much as I would like to say this was an AMAZING experience, Travis and I both found ourselves overwhelmed by a negative mood. You can definitly feel that the spirit is there, but to have to here the story told by people who don't belive in what we believe in is VERY hard.
It is a magnificient building.
You can see how big this building really is with us in it looking like ANTS!

John Johnson Farm

This was our last stop of the day in Kirtland. We drove through a storm and was really glad that we got there safely. We went here after being at the Kirtland Temple and we were amazed at the different spirit that we felt while being there. We were given the tour by a very sweet senior couple and we were with the same 2 other couples that we were at the Kirtland with.
This is the porch of the John Johnson home where Joseph Smith would give his Sunday morning sermons. You couldn't help to feel the spirit while standing there. This is the bedroom where Joseph Smith and Emma where sleeping with the two Murdock babies when Joseph was dragged out by a mob and tarred and feathered. While recanting the story Brother Phyde got very emotional which brought the spirit and caused many of us to get emotional as well as we remembered the story where our Prophet demonstrated great strength and faith.

Amish Country

We took a short trip to go visit some of the most beautiful areas in Ohio: Amish Country. It really has some of the most beautiful land and some of the kindest people there. We drove around and stopped at a few small home run shops.
This is their General Store. There were many different types of buggies and horses:

Last Stop...Cleveland!

Cleveland really is the city of Rock & Roll. We enjoyed going over all the huge bridges and enjoyed a yummy meal at the Hard Rock Cafe. We took our first of two plane rides from the Cleveland Airport.
Here is a picture from the freeway of downtown Cleveland.

Here is the guitar outside of the Hard Rock Cafe. Here is the Rock & Roll Museum.

We weren't able to go this trip, but we will definitly have to go back!

The Progressive Field, where the Cleveland Indians play.
